Artificial Intelligence takes over The Music Industry.
The A.I. Music company @TikTok that was responsible for breaking the Chart-topping Phenomenon, Lil Nas X, has acquired @musical.ly, the lip-syncing music video app, now called @tiktok. It’s parent company @bytedance, a Chinese conglomerate has quietly purchased @Jukedeck, a small, AI music startup company in the UK that developed software that can create music with artificial intelligence. If ARTIST are concerned about being DENIED royalties from major labels, what will they say when LABELs begin to utilize ARTIFICIALLY INTELLIGENT song Writers that will write and compose songs without the need of human ARTIST?
This year, @warnermusic signed the “FIRST-ever algorithm company, ENDEL, to [a] major label deal.” @warnermusic offered ENDEL a distribution deal where ENDEL unlike a typical major label record deal, would retain ownership of its master recordings, yet wouldn’t receive any advance monies, but would share a 50 / 50 royalty split with @warnermusic. ENDEL in turn would use its algorithm to create 600 short tracks on 20 albums that were then put on streaming services. Thus, “the first major label deal,” without the use of a REAL artist.
Ultimately, the ENDEL @Warnermusic deal is definitely an Innovative means of creating MUSIC and circumventing the REAL songwriting process. The fact that a major label has consciously made the decision to distribute and monetize automated audio, to compete and live alongside traditional music on playlists and streaming platforms is MORE reason for ARTIST to be concern. Trust! Other labels will soon follow.
